Bredin Institute - Centre for Learning is a non-profit organization that has been serving Albertans in the areas of employment readiness and training for over 30 years. 

 

What does the Bredin Institute - Centre for Learning do?

We offer Immigrant Services, Employment Services, Training Programs, and Certificate Courses. 

 

Throughout 2008, Bredin Institute - Centre for Learning will hold and attend various events, including exhibitor booths at the various Alberta Employment, Immigration and Industry Canada/Alberta Service Centres throughout Edmonton. Please stop by and learn about our many NO TUITION and LOW TUITION programs and services and industry-recognized certification courses that we have to offer within Edmonton, Spruce Grove, and Calgary, Alberta.

Do your services cost anything?

Our employment services are offered at NO COST through our partnership with Alberta Employment and Immigration.

 

Our vocational training programs fees are competitively structured, with funding options available including student loans and/or grant funding for qualified students.

 

Can you help me find a job?

Absolutely!  We currently offer the following NO COST employment services programs designed to assist you in your job search:

  • WorkSource: Provides job search assistance to Albertans 18 years and older, residing in the Parkland County region.

  • Youth Connections: 16 – 24 years old?  Connect to job shadow and employment opportunities.  We will even help you explore the career direction you have been looking for.

  • Centre for Skilled and Internationally Trained Professionals: Helps internationally trained professionals navigate the obstacles of licensure recognition and secure meaningful employment in their field of expertise.

I have recently immigrated to Canada. Can you help me find work in my field?

If you are an internationally trained professional, let our Centre for Skilled and Internationally Trained Professionals assist you in the areas of licensure recognition and becoming gainfully employed in your field of expertise.  Depending on your educational background, you could qualify for one of our Bridging Programs.

 

What is a 'Bridging Program'?

The Bredin Institute - Centre for Learning currently offers two Bridging Programs:

 

The International Engineering Bridging Program is exclusively focused on internationally trained Engineers who are currently experiencing difficulties re-entering their profession in Alberta.  This program will increase language levels to CLB 7, provide TOEFL iBT curriculum, technical skills upgrading, communication skills, cultural training, preparation for APEGGA licensure and 20 weeks of internship with an Engineering firm. This highly evaluated program is offered in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta.

 

The International Pharmacy Bridging Program as been designed to assist internationally trained pharmacists to acquire a license to practice pharmacy in Alberta.  Our all inclusive program provides students with an enhanced learning opportunity, integrating four distinct curriculum areas throughout the duration of study.  Upon successful completion of examinations requisite for licensure, our graduates are fully prepared to launch active, successful and rewarding careers within the Alberta pharmacy workforce and greater community. Our highly successful program currently runs in both Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta.
