Progressive Education

This innovative program assists internationally trained veterinarians toward competent practice of veterinary medicine in Alberta. This includes intensive preparation and training for successfully challenging the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE). In addition, the program provides Communication Skills Enhancement, Employment Readiness Training, Cultural Awareness Training and preparation for the Basic and Clinical Sciences Exam (BCSE) for students that have not yet passed this entry-level examination.

Do you believe you would benefit from:

·         Studying together with other internationally trained veterinarians?

·         Receiving instruction from specialists in the fields of veterinary medicine?

·         Receiving funding in order to study full-time?

·         Participating in 10 weeks of clinical placement?

·         Improving your interview skills and resumes/CV’s?

General Notes

We would be happy to mail you an application package.

Program staff strongly encourage all interested individuals to submit applications early to avoid disappointment. All admission requirements must be met on or before the application deadline stated.  Please do not submit original documentation.  This will be reviewed before accepted applicants participate in the program orientation.  Unfortunately, the program cannot accommodate everyone that applies.  Seats are limited and as a result the selection process is competitive.

For more detailed information or to request an application package, please contact Kerri Drummond, Intake, Southern Regions at (403) 261-5775.
