ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY COURSES

Most internationally trained professionals that immigrate to Canada have studied English in their country of origin however they often need to continue to study English formally to fully function in their professional and personal life in Canada. Courses in advanced communication skills, English for professional communications, and pronunciation and accent reduction are available at a number of education institutions. In advanced communication skills, learners may develop reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, or focus on one or two areas of weakness. In English for professional communications, learners may develop general business, profession specific and/or employment preparation English language skills. In pronunciation and accent reduction, learners can focus on speaking and articulating sounds more clearly, and/or reducing their accent. Course costs and financing information are for landed immigrants and Canadian citizens, those with other legal status should check with the institute. Costs were confirmed May 15, 2006 and may have changed since that date.
