EVENTS OF INTEREST TO ALL CLIENTS

The Centre has been hosting and presenting a wide range of events, including information sessions, workshops and networking meetings that are relevant to clients from a variety of professional backgrounds:

·         Presentations on the new format of TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – delivered by an ESL Coordinator at one of Edmonton’s major English language training schools

·         Workshops on preparing personal-income tax – facilitated by representatives from the Canada Revenue Agency and consultants from private accounting firms

·         Employer forums – involving Human Resources representatives from a variety of industries who come in to speak to our clients about advertising, recruitment and selection methods practiced in their organizations

·         “Success” client forums - bringing together Centre’s clients who are currently employed in their professions and those who are presently looking for professional jobs.  The employed clients share personal experiences of challenging various stages of work search and integration into the Canadian workplace and provide advice to current job-seekers.

·         English for Business Purposes information sessions – delivered by the representatives from Edmonton’s business English-language training providers, such as Cultural Connections Institute, Canadian English Academy, Grant MacEwan College and Canadian English Language Services.
