REGISTERED NURSES
The Centre hosts
information sessions on the Canadian English Language Benchmarking
Assessment for Nurses (CELBAN), an English language test required for
obtaining the nursing license in Canada. The sessions are presented by
an English as a Second Language expert who has played a major role in
implementing CELBAN and coordinating testing centres in Alberta.
Information sessions
by representatives from the College and Association of Registered Nurses
of Alberta are also available to come in to the Centre with the overview
and clarification of the recent changes to the Health Professions Act as
they relate to the nursing practice in Alberta.
A study group is
currently being formed to provide the Centre’s Nurses with an
opportunity for systematic, focused and peer-supported preparation for
CELBAN. Appropriate study materials are available for in centre use or
on loan.
